SOCKSpacific Ltd   Formed in late 2009 in the midst of the Global Economic Slowdown SOCKSpacific Ltd has now been operating for 6 years, surviving both the Christchurch Earthquakes and its ongoing effects on local business. SOCKSpacific Ltd is a New Zealand owned and operated Sock specific manufacturing company formed from the history, knowledge and expertise of over 100 years sock manufacture in Christchurch Canterbury. Simon Hay and Darren Ballagh have formed a new Company to utilise over 40 years collective manufacturing experience, both starting with LWR on the floor as knitting machinery operators and progressing through to Management within Pacific Brands Clothing NZ. Simon became New Zealand Manufacturing manager for Pacific Brands Clothing overseeing two Sock and Thermal manufacturing plants in New Zealand. Darren became the Factory Manager for Pacific Brands Sock and Thermal manufacturing  Christchurch plant. SOCKSpacific was formed during the closing of the Pacific Brands Manufacturing facilities and the liquidation of LWR Manufacturing. "We saw the potential for a small business to arise from the closures and provide high quality New Zealand made socks to specific criteria based on exact customers needs, our name is a play on specific needs in a pacific market" Our ability to perform small run - quick turnaround special contract orders is one of our strengths and we pride ourselves on developing good quality, innovative New Zealand made products. We are continuing to grow our core School and Football Contract business sending these products to all parts of New Zealand.
